here is what i'm talking about:

oversized clamshell cases, caucasion dudes dressed in a lot of camoflage, "ninja" bandanas that SAY "ninja" on them (sometimes also with little pictures of ninjas)...guys running around forest preserves (you can see the picnic tables).

a lot of these were put out (unleashed) by trans world. some are entertaining because they are so bad...disappearing ninjas...brightly colored ninjas...bad dubbing...people killed INSTANTLY by one throwing star (notice victim always holds it with his hand...very convincing).

but i just got one in the mail the other day called NINJA HUNT which is a dubbed SE asian movie with these lame scenes cut in that don't even fit. supposedly the american is masterminding the overseas action. (the "real" asian movie footage is bad but better than the added stuff).

I am having a hard time "understanding" this Cabbello's hunting clothes-clad ninja genre...

I've always maintained that to find a really good ninja movie, you have to get one with a shiny cover.  A shiny cover equals ninja gold.

alot of the so-called ninja movies are actually chinese kung fu movies given those titles to sell during the 80's ninja craze.  Some of them are classics "Wolfen Ninja" is actually the b-classic "Wolf, Devil, Ninja" "Jade Dagger ninja" is some other good one I can't remember.  "Ninja Apocalyps" is "Secret Code" a favorite of mine.

i just finished Ninja Hunt.

you know it's a good movie when the american ninjas (inserted footage) are wearing yellow or camoflage and incorporating picnic tables into their endless windmill kicks and cartwheels...the only two moves that are used.

oh yeah, and the way they wear street clothes, meet each other for the big battle and instantly appear in their ninja suits....and i mean instantly...they do little signature hand moves---sound effect---ta-da! they're wearing ninja suits.

(and of course the ninja with the "formula" will bring the "formula" to the battle so that he can lose the battle and thus lose the "forumula"),

also---these actors look like early 80s porn-rejects who maybe climbed their way to green belts at the strip-mall tae kwon do dojo before their checks bounced after doing too much coke that month OR maybe they spent too much on bikini underwear and leather vests at international male.

Good to see,and see all over the web, that someone ,other than myself,is a very big fan of ninja movies, and the great, very much missed Sho Kosugi.

Who here thinks it would kick ass if Sho would be in Kill Bill? I might just shead a tear thinking about it.
