Most of us here know Marjoe from his B-movie appearances (Food of the Gods, Starcrash). But did you know at the tender age of 4 Marjoe was Pentecostal Evangelist who even performed marriages?  Actually he was the victim of terrible abuse. His mother would routinely dunk his head in bucket of water or cover his face with a pillow to make him memorize Bible verses.

I had heardf this film...never saw it. Fascinating stuff! I'll always remember him as the psycho National Guardsman in EARTHQUAKE,though...!  :smile:

Hi Trek  :smile:

The documentary film Marjoe won an Oscar if I remember correctly ~ I also remember Marjoe Gortner appearing as the fearsome "Cobra" in American Ninja 3 ~ Bloodhunt which was directed by a friend of mine.

I feel a little weak admitting the fact that I know people who made B Movies but I love the films, that's why I'm here.  :teddyr:

I've heard the same thing. But, I also heard him accuse his father of doing the same things. Of course, at least his father denied it.

While Marjoe has not done anything, acting wise recently, he had a career in acting that lasted from about 1972 to 1995.

And Trevor, yes, "Marjoe," won the Oscar for best full-length documentary.

Alot of people front on this guy but he was in Viva Knieval, one of my favorite movies ever so he's cool with me
