Emmerich and the Giant Claw

The updated review of the Giant Claw has set me thinking. Shouldn't we be starting a petition to the Hollywood studios to have Roland Emmerich remake the Giant Claw? This could truly be a bad movie of galactic proportions. I'm still wondering about the lead role, though. Vin Diesel or Will Smith? Or perhaps both?

But that was and attempt to drag down Toho Studios.  Emmerich-ing The Giant Claw could be a new pinnacle of squawking marionettte badness for all of peoplekind!

No marionettes! It should be done in glorious CGI, with all kinds of strange camera angles. And have lots of explosions. And Milla Jovovich.

I would only support a Giant Claw re-make if someone like Roger Corman was producing it.

I can see it now. F-16s duleing with the bird, groups of people dieing beneath massive guano bombs, carnage on agrand scale....and it comes off worse then the original.

Don't forget, the big buzzard has to secretly lay a bunch of eggs that hatch into smaller birds (say, the size of a rowboat) that chase our heroes around for a while.
