Sam Raimi might do horror again!

Sadly, it's not Evil Dead 4. Sam Raimi has shown interest in adapting the comic "40 days of nights", which is described

It tells the story of a town in Alaska that is dark for a month because of the Earth’s tilt away from the sun, and so it becomes a paradise for vampires. The only thing between vampires and general chaos is the town’s husband and wife sheriff team.

Sounds like the flipside of Insomnia. Sam's said this may be his next project after Spider-Man 2. C'mon Sam, don't pull a Spielberg/Indy 4 on us! Make ED4!!!

Sam may never be able to film a new "Evil Dead" movie(with Bruce campbell not wanting to do one, feeling that three Ash adventures were enough),but undertaking this movie would be a pretty great and ambitious film for Sam,regardless.

But we need a big, gory zombie (deadites qualify as zombies, right?) film released by a major studio with a sizeable budget, and Resident Evil was not it. With Spider-Man doing such huge business Sam could probably make a snuff film if he wanted to, and now would be the perfect time for a daring project like ED4. I just wanna see Ash back in action. Is that wrong?!...sniff...

Does anyone else see Campbell as the sheriff in "30 Days?" Ash it wouldn't be, but he'd be perfect for the part.

it would be awesome if raimi (or peter jackson) would get a bunch of unknown actors and gifted effects people and make an old style raimi flick. just think of what could be done with all the money floating around now.

(it's sickening that toby mcguire (a great peter parker) will get paid millions for spidey 2...what was ED made for...100K? so toby mcguire is "worth" 60 EDs? (convoluded way to look at it i know).)

i also have this strange hope that peter jackson will buy an island and build a small production company. he'll only make stuff like his older movies...something. sort of like the island of dr. morao (sp?)...with his dominions of freaks working as grips and gaffers. he'll get really fat like brando and frodo will be his little jabba-the-hut-pet-thingy.

i think both of these scenarios are equally far fetched. sadly.

I read the novel Savage Membrane by the author of the comic 40 Days and 40 nights and it was great.  He combined the writings of H.P. Lovecraft and Raymond Chandler to create a totally engrossing novel with a sly sense of humor.  If 40 Days and 40 Nights is anything like that I can't blame Raimi for being interested.  Also, Raimi is the best director in the universe (yes, that does include other planets with life) and it's great to see him once again making films that sound good (as opposed to the head scratching decisions For Love of the Game and The Gift).

Sorry, I meant 30 not 40.  Who am I kidding, I suck.  I'm off to cry now.

Well, this sounds pretty good, though I would like to see a 4th Evil Dead

i read in recent interviews a ED4 is always a possibility if sam and bruce can get organized it seems to me they both would be interested but the poor box office earnings of the 3rd film is hampering the production of a fourth.
