This is not a search for a film, but for scene that matches the description (from any movie).  The goal is to find a scene of a man being roughed up, especially if some of the people standing by are holding clubs.  Likely candidates are movies about the mafia, unions or government agencies, or prison.

The scene that I thought of is from "The Shawshank Redemption."  One of the mean "sisters" gets the snot beat out of him by the head guard, played by Clancy Brown.

Scenes like this definitely crop up in some b-movies, especially ones in prisons.  I just do not have time to do any research right now.  Does anyone know of such a scene off the top of their head?

"L. A. Confidential", Russell Crowe beats Danny Devito to death while Devito is in a chair, I believe there are a couple other scenes like this in the film.
"Billy Jack", in the park after he's hit with a club he's shown being held by a couple guys while a third one beats him.
Tom Laughlin again, in "The Born Losers", I seem to recall a scene where he gets beat up by the biker gang.

Thank you all, several good suggestions.  I'm forwarding them on, with proper credit given to the person who suggested it.

I also came up with "Solarbabies" and "Escape 2000" as possible sources.

Late on the draw on this (like usual), but I thought of one not mentioned.

Danny Glover gets beat up pretty good while sitting in a chair in LETHAL WEAPON.  As I recall, there are several minions standing around beside the main two interrogators.

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

How 'bout Roadhouse, particularly the scene where Wesley whales on one of his own henchmen for being "a bleeder?"

Also, V For Vendetta - Creedy beats Deitrich to the floor with a nightstick.
