Killer Bees

Hotel California - The Eagles
American Pie - Don McLean
Stairway To Heaven - Led Zepplin
And that song by Jimi Hendrix that says "excuse me while I kiss the sky"

I hate all of those songs and they should be retired (in the terminal sense), never to see the light of day any more.
Flower, gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine
Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine.......

As has been said before, I try not to listen to radio stations too much. On the few occasions I actually do, I usually prefer the classics over the mainstream stuff that's on most stations. But admittedly, most of the songs mentioned so far wear off pretty soon (some of them after about 25 seconds). On the other hand, the station I prefer because they play rather independent songs wears also off after a couple of days, because severe repeating of the playlist.

That said, there is one song I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR AGAIN....EVER!!!! Usually we are not pestered with it most of the year, but in the recent special season one just can't escape. This year, however, was the first time I was not only tortured by the original, but by several cover versions, on one occasion three different ones in one day. I am talking, of course, about:

Last Christmas by Wham...hhrrxxmpflnnnnghhh!
......"Now toddle off and fly your flying machine."

Killer Bees

I don't actually listen to the radio and haven't for a long long time.

My clock radio wakes me up in the morning, but that's tuned to the ABC Classical station, so I wake up to Chopin or something equally delightful and then the hourly news.  Hey, it's better than having Britney assault your ears at 7 am!

Journey - Wheel in the Sky

My parents play this over and over.
"To be bitter is to attribute intent and personality to the formless, infinite, unchanging and unchangeable void. We drift on a chartless, resistless sea. Let us sing when we can, and forget the rest..."
-H.P. Lovecraft

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I have to say it.. Welcome to the Jungle. I know, it's an amazing song, but I've heard it probably something like 7000 times, so start playing more Mr. Brownstone radio.
"His coconut gun can fire in spurts. If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt!" - James Madison
