Fangoria.com has the lastest word on the new Godzilla.  So far, it sounds good to me.

Yeah, it does sound pretty good. Still, it's the 26th Godzilla movie? WOW!

flangepart

WOW! This MechaGodzilla is kick-ass! Indeed, a nice blending of the 70's and 90's MechaG. This has potential. I wanna see it! I wanna,i wanna,i wannaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Tommy

I hope this Godzilla movie stays in Japan, because it looks as terrible as Godzilla any other.

Am I wrong wanting newer monsters for the King to battle?  If they insist on going the retro route then I'd love seeing a revamped Hedorah or Gigan (even that doofus Megalon would be welcome) for a change instead of the same old classic nemesises.  Still, I'm sure it will be a retro-rockin' good time for the Kaiju fans everywhere.

I don't think so.  Hopefully we'll get something new with the next one.

                         Sounds really good,and just hope that this,as well as the last two,get a U.S. release,even if it's direct-to-video.
I'm sure that our buddy Tommy is delighted upon hearing this news item.

I'd like to see a remake of Atragon. Or, maby a continuation of the story....the return of Manda!  As for G Vs. fill in the blank....why not Varan/Baran? The "War of the old Gods" story fan fiction in G-FAN was good enough for a starting point.  Up date the lake lizard, and let his flying ability balance out G's fire breath. Hummm...G Vs. Manda/Mu...could be a lively match up.

The only foe that can stand up to Gojira!

Excellent idea, there, Flangepart!  I've only seen Manda in Destroy All Monsters, and he looked neat in that.

Pity it probably won't happen, but you never know.

I like the old monsters, but I also agree that some new ones would also be good. But I like the looks of this one, oh yes.

Babydoll

I want to see the Movies after Godzilla 2000.  When are coming to video in the US?

StatCat

I'd say I prefer the older monsters which for the most part were a lot cooler to me then the newer ones. I'm still waiting for an anguilus return where they'll probably mess with the way he looks. Manda vs Reptilicus would be more along my lines. Which is like a viking serpent vs a dragon like creature.

Flangepart

Ooooh...i like that! Manda tears up Reptilicus, and has to fight a bunch of Rep "Foot soldiers" as well as the big Cheese Danish.

Re: Babydoll's question:

"Godzilla X Megagurius" can be found in a subtitled version--and maybe a dubbed version, but go subtitled--from Video Daikaiju. (They have a website now! Yay! But no online catalog yet, you have to call or e-mail.) Video Daikaiju's service, and tape and titling quality is superb.

"Godzilla-Mothra-King Ghidorah: Daikaiju Soukougeki" isn't out on video yet, but comes out in Japan in a couple of weeks. The subbed version, if it isn't available already via some other source, should follow shortly thereafter.

There are still no plans, as far as I know, to release either officially in the US. Most of the Heisei series waited for years before finally getting US release...

Cullen

I keep thinking I've heard rumblings about releasing Godzilla X Megagurius on tape and Godzilla-Mothra-King Ghidorah: Daikaiju Soukougeki in theaters, or vise versa.  Of course, all of the rumbling I've heard has been on the 'net, and is so suspect.  Still, when there's life, there's always learning Japanese and importing the DVDs...
