Yeh, I love that album; listened to it all thru Christmas, and still pop it in, but always moving on...upcoming, all sealed: THE MODERN JAZZ QUARTET FONTESSA (I think I bought this 5 years ago) Golden Throats, ELTON JOHN Honky Chateau, JUNE CHRISTY, NINA SIMONE, HOWLIN' WOLF... I'm crazy, but 'long as I got 'lectricity, I got music !!!  :tongueout:

The Bad Plus - Motel

Jazz piano trio.  They got some notoriety for themselves by doing interesting covers of rock/pop tunes, like this one of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

I love that album.

P.S. I'm going to track down that Cary Grant song, and I agree with you on Moon River. It's all the more perfect because Audrey's actually singing, even though she's not much of a singer. It's more down to earth.

I've been listening to Jack the Ripper by Morrissey. It's brilliant. I love the opening bit:

"Oh, you look so tired
Mouth slack and wide
Ill-housed and ill-advised
Your face is as mean
As your life has been"
"To be bitter is to attribute intent and personality to the formless, infinite, unchanging and unchangeable void. We drift on a chartless, resistless sea. Let us sing when we can, and forget the rest..."

Good luck trying to find it; I have it on an LP Christmas collection, sold at the old A&Ps in the early 70s (of course, it almost certainly appeared on some other album originally...)  Let me know if you have any luck.

Listening to CAROLE KING Really Rosie (haven't seen the animation in at least 30 years, but I like the music still and remember loving it.)

Later, listening to BOB SEGER Greatest Hits

and still later, the greatest rock record of all, THE STOOGES Fun House
