The Jaws (and Jaws II) star passed away today at the age of 75 in Little Rock, Arkansas, losing his battle with cancer. I just heard about it on the late night news.  :bluesad:

"A grizzly bear with a chainsaw. Now THERE's a killing machine!" - The Simpsons
"I've always wanted to make love to an angry welder." - Jaws: the Revenge

RIP, Roy.  Always a favorite.  From JAWS to BLUE THUNDER and points between, an entertaining actor is some good films...

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

Very sad news indeed.   :bluesad:

An absolute favorite of mine...sweetly personal as so many people seemed to have no awareness of him outside of JAWS(and maybe SEAQUEST).  Right out of Orange, New Jersey and you could tell.

Jesus....THE SEVEN-UPS, BLUE THUNDER, 52-PICKUP, Eric Red's criminally underappreciated COHEN AND TATE, THE FOURTH WAR, NAKED LUNCH....

...and my ultimate Scheider film, SORCERER.
That's my driver's license picture....I hate that picture!"

Hey, he was a favorite of mine!! I hadn't even heard he was ill.   Rest in peace, Roy.

We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

That's a bummer.  I always enjoyed his work immensely, from Jaws to Blue Thunder to 2010.  He will be missed.

He should have stuffed a compressed air cannister in cancer's mouth and said "Smile, you son of a b!tch!" before shooting the can.  It's a sad day, however.  RIP Roy...
He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature... and because of it, the greatest in the universe........

Indeed, Jaw is my favorite movie of all time and this news saddens me.  RIP  :bluesad:

A fine actor.  I rented some movies I knew would be awful just to see him in them, and he never disappointed.  RIP.

I just heard he had a type of bone cancer, don't recall the name but I heard it was a nasty one.

This is horrible. I've only seen Roy in a couple of movies but I thought he was a terrific actor and it's a shame he's gone.  :bluesad:

Dam. I just watched him in MARATHON MAN the other night. Good actor....thats a shame.  :bluesad:

R.I.P.. We've lost another great talent and one who certainly appeared in plenty of sci-fi, action and horror roles. One of those great stars who could elevate a bad movie or TV show somewhat by his performance.
