As part of KO Picture Show's "VS" roundtable slugfest, we bring you the bloody battle of two 80s horror icons. Let the battle begin...

Karma for the review; ya beat me to it actually.  I may still someday review it after I retouch up all the ol Friday reviews.  One thing, however, it was more of a recap than a review...I kept hoping you had a few analytical paragraphs/summary opinions at the end -would have been a great way to tighten it up.  Sorry, the English Teacher coming out in me.  I do like how you talk about the Jay clone but you didn't mention the Jack Black clone.  See, I actually think these clones were done this way on purpose to kinda "kill off" those types of characters of the modern picture show <shrugs> -maybe some kind of weak way of presenting social commentary.

At any rate, I agree; this movie was definitely more fun and entertaining (in spite of the plot hole problems) than any of the Fridays or Elm Streets.  But, the way I see it, they did about as good as they could with what they had to work with.  There were so many different explanations for things, noncoherent sequencing of event, and retrosculpting that they probably just picked the best plots they could work with.  And I too loved the scene where they went back to the 50s - they even had a reference to Jason's sack head mask in that scene!  Not to mention they had references to various scenes from both series; the one that comes to mind is the shot of Freddy on the street, an exact replica of the positioning, lighting, etc,. from the first and best Elm Street.  There's also a cameo (high school principal) but I can't remember off hand who he is (the producer maybe?).

And Betsy Palmer rules!  I thought Jason's mom in this one was about as close as they could have gotten.  Anyway, good job but your recap leaves me itching for more :)

Decent observation, I've actually been thinking of adding more to the end of the reviews lately.  However I tend do make  my feelings more well known throughout the plot recap.   :teddyr:

Indeed.  Its one of those nostalgia scenes that makes one feel all warm and fuzzy inside.   :bouncegiggle:

Let me know when you post your review of it.  I look forward to reading your views on the entire piece.

Gosh I hope I didn't sound like I was complaining; I was afraid I came off like I was b!tchin lol.  Yeah I haven't looked at my Friday reviews for awhile but I'm sure they need a touch up (I always have to add more/revise every time I reread my own stuff) so I don't imagine I will get to FvJ for awhile, but I'll be sure to let ya know.
Anyway, it was really good; makes me wanna pop the DVD in and watch it tonight.

No not at all.

As for the film, yeah it was a fun bloody adventure.  If there was anything else I'd wish for was more focus on Freddy.  That guy rules.

I'll keep an eye out for your review.
