This question applies to those of us who live in the U.S.

Which primetime news network do you usually watch?
I've watched ABC news for years.  I like the look and feel of it and prefer their newscasters over the other channels.

I've got a friend who swears by NBC news and is always trying to get me to watch it.
They're ok, but I still prefer ABC news.

How about cable news networks such as CNN, MSNBC and Fox?
Which of those do you prefer to watch?

Or do you not watch the news at all?

For local news, I watch our ABC affiliate, usually.  For National News, I'm a FOX junkie.

I don't watch the news. I listen to the news. My car radio is set to NPR or National Public Radio.

I can't watch the news...they cut off my satellite.

I read the Kalamazoo Gazette.

For world news I watch The Newshour with Jim Lehrer on PBS. On weekends and when I can't wait I'll watch NBC, sometimes ABC. But all the network news shows are lacking these days, plus I can't stand Charlie Gibson too often, too stiff and bland. I'm not much of a CBS network news fan, even before Katie Couric took over, but I did watch it more during the Bob Scheiffer days.

For local news, usually the NBC or CBS affiliates, more for the weather coverage, since the stations are 60 miles away and we aren't their primary news focus. Plus the NBC station has the cutest news bunnies these days, shame on me for calling them that.

When I still had cable, I switched between all the news channels and the various C-SPANs. I was very fond of Keith Olbermann's show, not objective at all, but a good mix of informative and entertaining; with a dose of snark and wit directed at some easy targets on the right. I used to really like when C-SPAN would carry newscasts from other countries, even if only to see what their perspective was. I wouldn't mind watching The National on the CBC on a regular basis.

I am a constant NPR listener in the morning, wish I could pick it up in the car, hopefully soon.

For the local news we watch the CBS affiliate, so I usually just flip on the CBS network news beforehand so I won't have to change channels. Yes, I'm lazy.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

We get Newshour with Jim Lehrer here and I watch whenever I remember it's on.  When I lived in Canada I watched Spokane tv news, can't remember the name of the station.  Or I watched CNN.  I was there when the war broke out and when 9/11 happened, so our tv was pretty much going 24/7.

I probably watched those other channels, but I've been home now for 5 years and I can't remember.

I don't watch any the news to often on the major networks. I think the the one I do catch is ABC and that once in a blue moon. I watch or hear on the radio Demoracy Now when I have the chance. Thats real it.

Don't watch any of the networks, and I don't like the 24 hour news stations because they spend vast amounts of time on stuff like Jon Benet Ramsey, O.J. Simpson, etc.  Mostly take a quick look at our local newspaper, and if I hear about some national story that's interesting I'll look it up on the internet.  I watch the local station for the weather.

For Local news I will watch our local ABC affiliate, which I think is the best for local news.  For National news I usually go to CNN, but a lot of times I will just look up the news online or listen to the radio for the news.

Actually, I get my news from National Public Radio, a station that gives many sides to a story.  Faux News is only watched in a MST3k kinda way; it's fun to pick out all their persuasion tactics, almost totally by the book too:

*ticker "questions" instead of facts: example: "Are the French Attacking us?" - that was f**king classic
* the yes yes yes
* the bait n switch

and hordes of other strawman fallacies, ad homs, ad hocs, arguments from antiquity, arguments from ignorance, and most common of all, appeals to emotion (mostly anger, hate, and fear).

But the best news has to be the onion :)
