"Somewhere in time" looks so kick ass.

It's a great album as well to listen to. Not quite as good as the followup Seventh Son of a Seventh Son but still very well done.

Somewhere in Time is almost unique in that it's got no "dark occult" elements -- just history and SF.  (They made up for that in Seventh Son.)

Back to Debussy: The Complete Works for Piano (Walter Gieseking) (Disc 3)
If you like DEBUSSY's orchestral work, try tracking down the PIERRE MONTEUX Edition DEBUSSY Nocturnes Images (Volume 5 with both the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony recorded probably in the mid 1950s).  Now out of print, and very expensive when new, these were a series of 15 discs (I think) one devoted to DEBUSSY.  It used to be possible to special order one volume (and I mean close to 15 years ago.)  No one has done a better job than PIERRE MONTEUX with DEBUSSY.

Thanks for all the tips, AHD.  I had an orchestral Debussy sampler but was not impressed by the performance/sound quality.  Never got back into his orchestral works, but of course I mean to someday.  The right performance can make all the difference.  But usually I'll stcik with Naxos, BIS and other reliable budget labels, for financial reasons.

Neo-prog.  Sounds a lot like Transatlantic (which, I realize, won't mean a lot to most of you...)

Transatlantic is the side project that Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy started with Neil Morse from Spock's Beard before Neil found God and put an end of Spock's Beard to concentrate on solo material.  Good band.

There you go. All I could remember about Transatlantic's personnel was that Pete Trewavas from Marillion was their bassist.  (It all comes together, eventually.)

Lately I've had a taste for some 80s hardcore punk.

Listening to my EASTER 2006 mix (if you see a poster, it's the soundtrack or broadway cast; other no-picture selections used are FIDDLER ON THE ROOF film soundtrack which I prefer) my mix includes:

I just downloaded Save Ferris' first album. Their second album kinda sucked.
