Who would you say is the most prolific B-movie actor/actress .....by talen or volume??

Vermin Boy

I've heard John Carradine's name mentioned in "most prolific" lists; he was consistantly getting top billing in straight to video fare for about ten years after he died! Dick Miller's gotta be up there, too, first appearing in most of Roger Corman's films (which alone would put him in the running), then being cast by Corman graduates like Joe Dante, Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, etc, etc.

On the actress side, perhaps Michelle Bauer, Lianne Quiggley (sorry for the misspelling) Julie Strain.  Shannon Tweed?  Have to do an IMDB search on all of them, plus others.

I know you're thinking mostly of horror movies, but I think you'll find the most prolific actors in old western movies.

Me and a couple of friends were trying to think of actors who had appeared in the most movies.  We were thinking along the lines of Gene Hackman (89) or Michael Caine (130).  Then someone looked up John Wayne (210).

If you're looking for prolific, old westerns are where it's at.

Mel Blanc is listed on the IMDb at 876, but most of his titles are only six minutes long.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Some others of interest:
(according to IMDB, so take it for what it's worth)
Klaus Kinski - 151 (but I'm sure that's leaving out some)
David Carradine - 141
Franco Nero - 140
Anthony Quinn - 164
Bob Steele - 199
Tom Mix - 323!!!

Neville

What about Christopher Lee? His IMDB profile shows 247 jobs as an actor.

Jay O'Connor

I suppose Lance Henrickson, Tim Thomerson and some of those guys aren't even in the running?

AndyC

Yep, I agree with Neville. Christopher Lee was the first name that came to my mind.

Vermin Boy

Ooh, good one! Now that I think about it, Lee is in the Guiness Book of World Records for most starring roles or something.

On a related note, I read an article on the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, where they calculated the actual most "connected" man in Hollywood. The winner: The late, great Rod Steiger! I suppose Mars Attacks and The Loved One alone would almost be enough to push him over the top...

AndyC

Yeah, I remember Rod Steiger being the most connected. I think I read about that in a book by the New Yorker's Malcolm Gladwell. Had a whole section on connectedness.

Chadzilla

Actress?
Julie Strain, she's so everywhere some people avoid her.

Actors?
Tim Thomerson
Lance Henriksen
