Actually dug out some old cassette tapes (yes cassette tapes! :buggedout: ) and I've been listening to ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days In the Life Of..." and I also plan on listening to HUNTERS & COLLECTORS: "Ghost Nation" and YAZ: "Upstairs at Eric's". Also found some old cassettes of THE PET SHOP BOYS and CROWDED HOUSE. Good stuff.

Love this cover

This cover is cool too.

I was into YAZ, too... I had You And Me Both on LP, "State Farm" and "Nobody's Diary" were club hits, like much of UPSTAIRS AT ERIC'S

AMY WINEHOUSE Back To Black   Great record, boys... if you resist 'cause of her wretched reputation, consider it a plus... this album is the album of the decade, and it is superior.  In just a few decades, or perhaps a century or two, this record may be forgotten, but right now, AMY is hot sh!t.

 You do like a lot of the things I do, like THE BEACH BOYS and other oldies like FRANKIE LYMON & THE TEENAGERS, and though I recognize he must not be overlooked, I personally loathe JERRY LEE LEWIS... I admire many ROCK pigs, but he was too much even for me... and I only want to hear GENE VINCENT sing "Be-Bop-A-Lula."

Not sure if I really like Jerry Lee as a person, judging from what I know of him.  I just like some of his music.  Apparently there's a supposed recording of Jerry Lee, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins from an impromptu recording session.  I found out about it on Wikipedia, and I'm not entirely certain if it's true or not.  If it does exist I'd love to hear it.  Personally I listen to a diverse (somewhat) selection of music ranging from Dean Martin and The Rat Pack to Weird Al.

My mom said the same thing about Gene Vincent and the "Be Bop a Lula" song.  It's on a cd around here somewhere.

I just bought a used copy of THE STOOGES Raw Power because I have the IGGY POP remastered edition (1997) and wanted to listen to the DAVID BOWIE original mix (the album was released 1973, this first CD issue was 1989 or 1990).  IGGY did a wonderful and underrated job remastering Raw Power, because BOWIE's mix bites weenie by comparison.  I do think the problem with hearing a piece of music the first time, falling in love with it, and subsequently hearing a "cleaned-up" or "alternate" mix, a listener may have a tough time with any tampering.

Now listening to JEFFERSON AIRPLANE Bless Its Pointed Little Head
