Your movie watching quirks?

What do BM.org friends do while watching a film? These are mine:

In the cinema / theatre:

No eating
No drinking
Cellphone off or on vibrate
Very important: No peeing on the floor or on the head of the person in front of me. :buggedout: :buggedout:

When I am the projectionist:

A chat with the audience first: very important.
The film starts on time, not a minute before or after the official start time.
Stay with the film and ensure that the sound and picture racking are right.

At home

On the carpet in front of the TV with a cold :drink: and a pizza. I had a delicious mouthful of pizza when I was watching the opening credits of The Crimson Rivers. When I realized just what it was that the camera was panning over, I nearly threw up into the box. :buggedout: :buggedout:

A trait which my son and I share is to never eat and drink at the theater to avoid those badly timed bathroom breaks.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Barbeque sauce tastes good on EVERYTHING, even salad.

Yes, salad.

I agree that eating or drinking at the theatre isn't such a great idea unless you're only moderately interested in the film in question (then it's a good excuse to get out of there for a while :bouncegiggle: )...bathroom, food breaks, whatever gets me out of said chick flick

Anyways when it's something I'm watching at home, nothing beats some low fat popcorn and a tall class of Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi...for me anyways. Then I needs a bathroom break, there's pause and chapter buttons on most DVD players and a pause or stop on the VCR.

At the theatre-I like Juju Fruits. I like ice water too. I used to sneak in a bottle of booze....but not inna while .

At home-Smoke ciggerettes, drink kool-aid or Verners, if I have one.

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

Patient 7, you're a prince among men *lol*

I usually only like watching movies at night, with quiet around me and no interruptions. I have to be lying on the couch with my pot of coffee in front of me and something to snack on. Lots of cushions for comfort and the remote handy if I need a bathroom break.

This usually happens only on the weekend. During the week I have too much to do between coming home from work and bed time.
Flower, gleam and glow

Bring back what once was mine
Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine

I've come to realize over the last couple of years I should only see a movie in the theater during the day. If I go to a movie at night I almost always fall asleep!

I get plenty of sleep and am in good health, and I can watch movies at matinees and at home into the wee hours of the morning, but for some reason I have a really hard time staying awake in a theater at night. I slept through all three of the LORD OF THE RINGS movies!
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

BELA my friend, you mean JUJY FRUITS... them hard gummy candies in different colors and flavors of exactly the correct texture for chewing. If they're available, I choose JUJY FRUITS. If not, I probably would go for Chocolate covered almonds (JORDAN ALMONDS, enrobed or whatever they're called, not the hard candy shell). No popcorn. NO DRINK.
TREVOR, as always informative and insightful, but you do get a bit grotesque; I do not need an image of you losing your pizza into the box it came in... :bluesad: :bluesad: I give you karma, which I never announce, to make the point. Happy 100.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Well at home in my theater chair seating in front of the home theater with a cold one or something on the rocks. I'm fairly tight with the fundage, but I did afford myself a decent home theater which looks better and sounds better than most of the movie theaters I've been to. And it's much cheaper to get to and watch.

SPOILER ALERT

The startling main credits of Mathieu Kassovitz's The Crimson Rivers feature a badly mutilated corpse infested by maggots, worms and other nasty little meanies.

This nearly made me lose my dinner: I stress 'nearly'. After that, I enjoyed the film.

Sister Grace

I almost always go to a movie at the matinee time. I'm not one of those girls that thinks they always have to have a date at the theatre. I like going to the movies by myself, not saying that i don't go with friends sometimes because i do occasionally. Between being a mom, a student, and a caretaker for my own mother, it has become my 'grace' time. I leave all my problems at home and just go to the movies to chill out for a few hours; kinda like my dad when i was growing up..he had his fishing time and thats when he got out of the house and just relaxed for awhile.
Because this is my 'alone time' i guess my quirk has become noise which is why i almost always try to catch a matinee. There is nothing worse than going to a movie you've been looking forward to watching and some screaming kid sitting behind you cries the whole time. When this happens, i have to ask myself, 'why am i paying for a babysitter so i can have a break if i just have to listen to some strangers kid being a complete brat?' but its not all the kid's fault. Parents shouldn't let their children act that way and parents should also think about the movie first. C'mon, who takes a five year old to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre? If you go during the day, more than likely the kids will be in school.
But its not just the kids you have to worry about. The frat guys are just as bad if not worse... :hatred:
Society, exactly as it now exists is the ultimate expression of sadomasochism in action.
-boyd rice-
On the screen, there\\\'s a death and the rustle of cloth; and a sickly voice calling me handsome...
-Nick Cave-

I have my own Quirks but here are mine (These only apply to watching at home, since I do not go to the theaters since they are too expensive)

If it is a movie that I must play loud (Die Hard, Terminator, etc) I will only watch it if my dad is working and my mom is not home. The only reason for this is to not wake my dad, or disturb my mom if she is not feeling good or is doing bill work for her business.

I must watch with the subtitles on if they are there. I have trouble sometimes hearing what people saying and instead of just having to keep turning the sound up to understand what someone says, I just make do with the subtitles to give me a rough idea of what they said.

I must watch them in the living room unless it is pitch black since the TV in the family room is near a bunch of window's and the sunlight really gets bad in there during the day.

Going to the theater has gotten too expensive so my movie viewing is mainly done at home, VHS tapes and DVDs are great for this, I can pause, rewind or just stop and then come back later. The one quirk that I have that drives the family nuts is watching certain movie scenes with the volume up, not to hear dialogue, because generally there is none, but to enjoy the sound effects and music. I once spent a couple hours on a sunday afternoon doing this and finally after Sam Jaffe had sounded "Stand to" on his bugle for the fourth or fifth time my wife told me to stop or else she would have to kill me.

I find to watch any sci-fi b film I have to be awake past midnight, some how I enjoy them so much more. Not to say that I don't enjoy them already but being past midnight is always enjoyable.

At the movie theatere unlike everyone else, I always get something to eat, expense be damned. The only time I go to the cinema is when I have a lot of dough to spend so I live it up.
