All this top 5, 10, 50, 100 horror/scifi/all-time-greatest movies list made me want to start an own post. Here it comes:

What's your favorite movie series. Let's say at least 3 parts, and all have to stand individually, i.e. no Lord of the Rings.

My shot:

1. Aliens

What I like most in this series is that all parts resemble the time period in which each was made very well. The classical suspense scifi of the 70s, the "the army moves in and kicks butt" of the 80s, the apocalyptic angle of the 90s, and the clone thing (also of the 90s?).

2. Die hard

OK, I have to admit that I haven't seen part 4 by now. I liked 1 and 3, 2 was too close to part 1 for me.

3. Terminator

1 and 2 were great, with all the cross references and what not. 3 was bad, real bad (although the end was kind of neat)

What do you think?

Howzabout the early Universal Karloff era FRANKENSTEIN series? FRANKENSTEIN,the BRIDE of FRANKENSTEIN, and my personal favorite the under rated SON of FRANKENSTEIN?

The Man With No Name trilogy withe Clint the Squint!

Romero's original LIVING DEAD trilogy!!!!!

I LOVE Fritz Lang's DR.MABUSE films....Dr.MABUSE-the GAMBLER being my favorite....I first seen these on PBS back in the 70's. FASCINATING! I do believe In the film M,Lang uses the same inspector as he did in the Mabuse film!!!

The CREATURE from the BLACK LAGOON trilogy...definitly!!!!

I don't suppose The BLOOD ISLAND films are gonna make it to anyones top ten list....(though I enjoy them...I'm kinda weird that way... :twirl:)
Of course...you first most join the ORDER of the GREEN BLOOD!!!!!

Does the Kevin Smith "View Askewniverse" count?

They weren't necessarily "sequels" (not counting the Clerks/Clerks 2 bit), but each contained certain characters and references to earlier parts.

If not, I'd say Die Hard.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.
It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide.

Hammock Rider

Let's not forget the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes'.  And the Thin Man series. And I guess you can count the various Tarzan series throughout the years. You could probably mash all the Cannon Ball Runs and Smokey and the Bandits into one big super series.
Jumping Kings and Making Haste Ain't my Cup of Meat

Killer Bees

There are a few for me.  In no particular order:

1.  Lord of the Rings
2.  Indiana Jones
3.  Jurassic Park
4.  X-Men
5.  Aliens

That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now.
Flower, gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine
Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine.......

HarlotBug3

The.
Naked.
Gun.

Peed.
My pants.
Thrice.
"Do you have something against droppings?" "Well, no, I..." "Sure, everyone says that till they step in it."

STAR WARS (Episodes IV - VI)
SPIDERMAN
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

asimpson2006

Here are my favorite movie series in no order what so ever.

Alien
Terminator
Bloodsport
Kickboxer
Godfather
The Toxic Avenger
Star Wars

JaseSF

There's so many. Let's see, there's

Planet of the Apes
Alien
Terminator
Mad Max
Creature From the Black Lagoon
Quatermass
James Bond
Jaws
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
Rocky
Kharis the Mummy
"This above all: To thine own self be true!"

Rev. Powell

Star Wars
Universal's Frankenstein
Romero's Dead
The Evil Dead (I assume, though I haven't seen ARMY OF DARKNESS)

For my offbeat selection, I'll take the collected works of Andy Sidaris, especially the Hope Marie Carlton years.

I couldn't include the Godfather series because of Part III.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

moman

I'm huge fan of the Rambo movies. Terminator 1 and 2 are some of my favourites but I don't really like part 3.
