Movie help. 80s movie about slimes

I am trying to find the title of a movie I saw .   It was made in  the 80s.   I believe it involved slimes.  In one scene there was a slime in a highschool boys' bathroom stall.  I want to say there a character who I thought was played by Dennis farina (probably becuase the character was a cop).  His catch phrase was "Groovy".  It was a B movie for sure.

The reason that so many of us have seen it, and it was so easy to identify, is that it is a fun movie. It won't win any awards, but it is fun.

You also won't have an easy time finding a copy of it if you do want to check it out again. As of yet there's been no commercial DVD release for the movie so you'd have to track down a VHS or wait for it to show up on TV.
