We're going to upset DERF ... no offense Derf nothing personal.

Upset me? How so? I liked the ][e. Macs have never really impressed me. I've been using PCs since 1990, about the time Apple showed it has no particular regard for its customers. I actually quite enjoyed the posts so far. Patient7's post pretty much hit it on the head: All OSs suck. They will all crash at some point, usually at a critical point when you've forgotten to save your work. However, quill pens and typewriters just aren't as good for surfing pron. Wait, um, I mean surfing library websites for research material. Yeah, library sites.  :tongueout:

Oops I thought you were the Mac user, it was another poster that is a Mac user ... oh well what do I know I'm just a PC user ... dee, dee, dee.

For the record, I don't know that much about computers, I just thought that was funny.  :bouncegiggle:
Barbeque sauce tastes good on EVERYTHING, even salad.

Yes, salad.

[oldmanvoice] Well, whippersnapper, I've been buildin' computers since before you was born, and whether by knowin' or luck, you done good. Now run and fetch me my prunes; I'm feelin' a might stuffy. [/oldmanvoice]

OT: Does anyone know if "Building a PC For Dummies - 5th edition" is current?
I haven't really tackled new hardware since 2003.

Dude for building PC's books are useless IMHO. Nearly everything you need to know can be found on line for free and trail and error, most hardware is plug and play, granted plug and play can be plug and cuss sometimes, but I've build many PC's either from the ground or just upgrades and in true man fashion I refuse to use a book.
