This art film is so far beyond self parody that you have to love it.  the director filmed some really strange costumed people in and around a beautiful old church.  They sort of ...move around in between thousand year old frescos dressed as knights and peasants.  One woman will emerge from behind a bunch of hanging rugs with a hand mirror, wipe the mirror on her bum,  then admire herself in it.  No offense to serious fans of this movie but it is strange with a capital S.  Armenian iconography interlaced with surrealist and modern dance type of business.    It was better than the democratic convention and having just run a few miles I was reading for something slow and sort of difficult so be similarly prepared if you want to take on the pomegranate challenge.

this is one I saw years ago, so long ago I might have seen it threw glassy blood shot eyes, I have it on my wish list as more of those movies I saw once and remembered, but need to see it again, less mentally altered.
