16.  I think Tuco (the Ugly from THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY) can qualify as a sidekick.  Even though he's presented as a co-equal member of the gold-seeking triangle, his role in the film is really the same as most sidekicks: help out the hero, who really drives the action, and provide comic relief.  Though he dominates the beginning of the film, by the end he's really trailing along in Blondie's shadow.

Certainly one of the greatest film characters, however you characterize him.

17. Charlie from House 2: The Second Story.

Because who wouldn't want a pal who doesn't walk out when you embarass the hell out of both your girlfriends causing them to leave with a record producer, says perplexing one-liner-type-things, and packs a bunch of heat for some reason? ...Well, judging by his review, Gunny wouldn't, but I have to admit ol' Charlie pleasantly reminds me a bit of myself

Comon, don't you picture me looking a bit like this??

No.19 - Chop Top - though it could be argued that Top steals the show in TCM 2, Drayton was the man in charge of the operation and Leatherface was the star of the series, so technically I'd say that makes Chopper the sidekick... even though he gets all the best lines.

"Don't make me stain my last clean shirt with the back of your head." - Shatter Dead
"A grizzly bear with a chainsaw. Now THERE's a killing machine!" - The Simpsons
"I've always wanted to make love to an angry welder." - Jaws: the Revenge

20. Gromit, WALLACE AND GROMIT & THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT (& short films)

(Though some may argue that Wallace is the sidekick)
