80s/90s horror show with flying creatures that live in dark places

its a very old memory

its probably not from after 1996 but could be old enough to be from the 80s

it could be a movie, tv movie, or tv series

i remember flying creatures that were like the cartoon guys on the hitchhikers guide books but a little bit more like tremors

i remember one of the main characters mom or someone used to tell him that the creatures lived in dark places and something about them living in closets too and maybe that they came out to eat bad people

i think the guy grew up and didnt believe in the creatures and at the end the guy is at an airport and running away from the creatures on a row of tables
