Well, that's not being much of a trooper.  I'd have expected at least you would have appreciated the ending which is awesome (yeh, the other 3 minutes are not worth sweating thru to get to the last 10 seconds...) 
Despite whole albums worth of junk from LEONARD NIMOY, WILLIAM SHATNER and SEBASTIAN CABOT (y'know actors "singing" on vinyl in the 1960s was apparently BIG) this one is the worst.  I punish you with RICHARD HARRIS "MacArthur Park" :

Like the rest of the song (Cher singing as a dad) the ending is awesomely out-of-place.  A true "what were they thinking?" record.

Well some chick had to admit it.     Pure canned provocation. 

PAT BOONE had 38 Top 40 Hits in the Billboard Hot 100 era, including the few years prior (back to '55 - if a record topped then current charts Top 100, Best Seller, Juke Box, etc)  BOONE's last charter was in 1962.  Here is the syrupyest of the ones I know: "April Love."  Can you believe this record went to #1 (October 1957)?   And stayed there for six weeks (count 'em!!)  If you're prone to cavities, skip it.  And if you have "sugar", don't watch this, you might go into insulin shock.

Yeh, not very good.  'Course covers was the rule of his day... I found BOONE's covers of the great rockers mildly amusing for their kind of awesome badness.  PAT BOONE had, er has, a pleasant voice and apparently looked good to many of his audience, but once he went out, he went way out and like little else has remained out. 

What number are we at? 

"Turn Me Loose"  Now FABIAN kind of remained cool, hanging on acting in movies, had an impressive 8 Top 40 hits (considering he couldn't sing, all in 1959 and 1960) and was never good:

I really like ROBERT PALMER, but not mad for him.  Glad he was outta that last mess.  Several of his songs belong in "guilty pleasures" for me.  Since I know the following way too well, it maybe belongs in "guilty pleasures" but it belongs here for me.

As one who owns the Pat Boone In a Metal Mood album, I feel I must speak up in his defense. I actually like this album, not because it is good, but because it is colossally, awesomely cheesy. Boone knew it was bad; it is obvious he knew it was going to be ridiculed. He worked with the original artists on most tracks, and they knew it was going to be "different." Basically, all the artists, Boone included, were in on the joke. The public, however, was not, and Boone's fans disowned him for a time. He was fired from some show he was doing for producing such a "satanic" record. He was rehired not much later, but only after it became painfully obvious that the album was not meant to be taken seriously. Boone has taken a lot of flack for this album; I think that takes some courage, alienating your fan base for the sake of a joke.

I will still occasionally pull this album out to terrify friends. It is hilarious to see their faces as they realize they are listening to "Crazy Train" or some such put to this bland jazz beat.
