Not as nearly ashamed as I was 30 years ago when I secretly liked a lot of BEE GEES hits, I have matured (and apparently you too) and can embrace anything worthwhile... and consider their two-disc greatest collection essential for anybody going for a comprehensive collection of great 20th century Pop... I like "Nights On Broadway" the most.  In this clip, and impressively, THE BEE GEES, are performing live!!

However, U2's BONO discovering ABBA post-facto, long after he'd perceived himself as their antithesis is a bit hamhanded... okay, they were in Stockholm and BONO did indeed choose to perform ABBA live seriously, and it does not necessarily yield schmaltz.

When I was a kid, I got hooked on The Carpenters. I guess most of those songs are considered really schlocky and syrupy, but I just couldn't get enough of Karen Carpenters low, lush voice. Still can't. I was so angry at her for dying of *&$(#*$& ANOREXIA!

I'm at work so I'm not going to mess around with YouTube. Maybe later.
