Interesting that while Pat Boone did a tongue-in-cheek album of rock covers, Paul Anka took a more serious approach and succeeded pretty well at matching rock lyrics with swing arrangements. He apparently put a lot of effort into choosing songs that wouldn't sound cheesy with that "Rat Pack" sound. I own Anka's Rock Swings, and it's one of the discs my wife and I usually take along on long car trips. I wouldn't even call it a guilty pleasure. It's a great musical experiment and a fun album.

OK, back to bad songs.

Ohh no no no, you don't know bad until you've heard this from the paedophile of pop. Before Micheal Jackson there was Gary Glitter.
I present to you....

Makes you're skin crawl doesn't it?
Is this a threat or a promise?

I know what you mean  :bluesad:. It's not a bad song though, Joan Jett's version is way better

JIMMIE RODGERS "Honeycomb" (here's a not-too-cool live performance about 8 years after "Honeycomb" topped the charts - for 4 weeks!)

Before she was in "Dr Who" Billie Piper had a Britney Spearsesque pop career. This actually got to Number 1 about a decade ago....

I remember that JJ. Do you remember Jennifer Ellison's attempt at a pop career?

Sadly no Circus, I didn't even know that Jennifer Ellison had tried to be a pop star! You can however hear why it didn't seem to take off.

SSGT BARRY SADLER "The Ballad of the Green Berets"   Topped the charts in 1966.

I've always thought that "Do Wah Diddy" by Manfred Mann was terrible! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=30p0PJrHrgE

Lita Ford "Kiss Me Deadly"

Now, I own all her records, but this song I loathe

Well, these have all been uniformly bad, though I take exception to MANFRED MANN (though I don't like it much).  I don't think VINCE McMAHON should count (or did he really have a record?)  Here's SSGT BARRY SADLER "The A-Team."    Probably the only "artist" that I can think of whose both charting records belong on the 100 Worst Songs Ever list:
