The US election; who the world would vote for.

Just in case you were wondering how the rest of the world is placed on the Democrats vs Republicans battle:

Interesting website which basically is an opinion poll from various countries based on their voting choice in the upcoming US election.

Thought I'd throw it into the mix to see how the rest of the world feels.

Currently Obama is in the lead.  Looking at the figures, it's an interesting idea.

I do get the impression that most of the people from my country have voted via a link on Facebook [that's how I did it; a friend sends you a link etc]  Therefore I imagine its not a very broad spread of opinion, but more likely a bit localised, that is, 'my friends would have voted one way and I'm likely to as well since they're my friends and we would generally have the same opinion on things.'

But it does certainly fit in with most of the sentiment you see here not only in the media but just people talking on the street.

Beyond all doubt Barack Obama is a far more popular figure worldwide than John McCain, which isn't surprising since people outside the United States stand to profit much more in a material sense---i.e. the funneling of American dollars into the Third World---with an Obama victory than a McCain win.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Yep, that's the number one election issue we're all thinking about.   :teddyr:

I do wonder though, is McCain being unfairly round-housed in the global polls because of his party ties, more than based on his own politics?  Methinks he is somewhat.

What is perhaps more interesting is looking at the countries who support McCain in the clear majority.  He seems to be pretty big in Eastern Europe.

Maybe they need to start a McCain campaign along these lines:

Thanks for that, Dean. That was interesting.

I see in some countries, McCain didn't even receive one vote. And I don't know what it says for our future relations with Iran, but even in Iran, Obama beats out McCain.

But all is not bad news for McCain, as maybe he should move to Albania and run for president there. Of the 213 countries that voted, that is the only country that seems to prefer McCain to Obama.
