Why on earth are there sign language dudes in the corner of the tv screen at 3 am!? Do broadcasters think that deaf people are vampires!?

Good choice!

Also, mistaking a can of 'Pledge' for 'Lysol' and spraying the floor of the shower with it can be, , well, quite dangerous.

Remember on Scooby Doo during a chase scene where Shaggy and Scooby would stop what they're doing to dress up in a costume?  They'd set up a scenario and the monster would kind of join in with a confused look on his face.  Why didn't the monster just kill them at that point?

I've never been able to fully appreciate the term "Thank God It's Friday".

As a child, Friday was always test day, and the teacher always seemed a little more unpleasant than usual.

As an adult, Payday has always been Tuesday, and whether or not I had to come in Saturday & Sunday has always been a toss-up.

And, let's not forget a certain movie franchise named for a certain weekday as it falls on a certain calendar day.

I think whoever coined that term must've had a real gravy job, with a saint for a boss.

Probably because the monster didn't really want to kill them, he just wanted to scare them off. :tongueout:

Of course, I think even a monster would find it somewhat perplexing to discover somebody stupid enough to assume that even a monster could be that stupid. :bouncegiggle:

I often think about how nice old jobs have been, even though they sucked thoroughly. I worked at a shipyard and the pay sucked, the people were all drunken stoner idiots, it was dangerous, unhealthy and backbreaking. BUT, with all that, anyone that could keep their crap together could easily get themselves into a position where they could almost never get fired. I wrecked a company truck, laid it on it's side and KOd myself in the process. Everyone believes I was racing another guy and driving like an idiot, including all my bosses, but no one ever said a thing about it because my section made loads of money. I used to have guys call in in the morning and ask "Do you need anything barfed on?". That meant they drank too much the night before and needed to take the day off. Occasionally people including myself, rather than calling in 'sick', would call in 'erect': Basically telling the boss they weren't going to be in because they had a woody. This was perfectly acceptable, except the boss would tell everyone in the place to give that person a call and ask all kinds of weird things, presumably to 'block' them, if you know what I mean. Once the boss came out with a written plan for something, and one of my guys took it from him, threw it on the ground and peed on it. I just can't get away with that sort of behavior working for the State, but, the pay is about double, and the benefits are pretty good. I still miss being able to refer to my boss as "The guy who looks like he ran out of money halfway through a sex-change operation" without fear of trouble.

Why (in the bedroom) it is perfectly acceptable to ask a lady to dress like a school-girl, however you make one request involving a gas-mask and all you get is a look of apprehension....

Taking those moments to evaluate one's life have usually proved beneficial to me. Don't like the fast ultra-pace of most of society which is probably why I prefer rural living. How can one enjoy any aspect of life if one has no time to savor in any of it?

I have a 12-step program to cure that. The first step involves duct-tape, a car batery, a stainless steel collander, and a brass doorknob. The next 11 steps are simply me posting the pictures to the boards here and everybody laughing over them. It really helps US more than it helps YOU, but on the positive: I don't charge that much.
