What movie is this

My girlfriend was watching Animal Planet and they had a show about cats and they showed a scene from a black and white movie involving a shrunken guy in a doll house and showed him trying to keep a cat from getting him.  That or else it was a huge cat.  My girlfriend was wondering what movie it was and since I don't know I ask you knowledgable folks to provide an answer to me.

I know, We didn't have Amc here until part way through this semester where I go to college so I haven't been able to see many classics. Also classes have been a b***h to me, but thats a whole different problem
