Why Do Fools Fall in Love? And Other Favorites by Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers.
I love the classic stuff like this.  My friends have deemed me 'Weird' because of it.

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

"Cubist Blues [Redux]" by Alan Vega/Alex Chilton/Ben Vaughn

AHD, you may be interested in this because of the presence of Chilton, but be warned he's purely there as an instrumentalist.  "Suicide" frontman Vega sings and improvises (I think/hope) all the lyrics.  Pretty good rockabilly 'n roll with freaky drunk Elvis vocals, nonetheless. The second disc contains live versions of the same songs plus one Suicide cover.

Sample: Fat City

"F#A# Infinity", one of the greatest albums ever committed to magnetic tape, in my opinion, by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It's such a claustrophobic album until this moment, the song entitled Providence. It bursts free with a beauty rarely seen in post-rock. I cried when I first heard this song, no joke.

"Frances the Mute" by The Mars Volta. I've always thought it was their best album, if only for the super-epic thirty-five minute finale song that stretches from track number 4 all the way to number eleven (!!). The band is a worthy successor at times to both the psychedelic and progressive movements, though they obviously borrow more from the former. And they are a force to be reckoned with live.

Check these albums out! They are long but most certainly worth it.

The Very Best of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons

People can say what they want about the band.  "Sellouts" all that.  Good album, regardless.
