TCM REMEMBERS 2008

  TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES does a great job at the end of every year with their tribute to film personalities that have passed in the year, now 2008:

I was struck by ROY SCHEIDER; PAUL NEWMAN at the end is sobering.  Poignant, remarkably subtle, certainly thoughtful: others that struck me were GEORGE CARLIN, PAUL SCOFIELD, LOIS NETTLETON, HARVEY KORMAN,  SUZANNE PLESHETTE,   Only ESTELLE REINER is given a line (her classic from WHEN HARRY MET SALLY - I had to pause the video to get her name...) The young people, LEDGER, RENFRO!  Too many others to name... And familiar faces with names I didn't really know, or never knew, and names I knew with unfamiliar faces.      And FORREST J. ACKERMAN, NINA FOCH, BERNIE MAC...

The song TCM used is by JOE HENRY off 2007's Civilians.  HAPPY NEW YEAR to all, and remember and treasure.
