Here is an interview with potential Bad Movie director John Amiel talking about his "boring" movie, The Core .

Two points from me: This quote - "I don't think there was a single one of Jules Verne's suppositions that was close to being accurate"  - was in reference to Journey to the Center of the Earth and not Verne's work in general.  At least, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.  Don’t ask me why.

But this one REALLY gets me: "I hope the film we're making is one that scientists will enjoy on [a certain] level. They'll enjoy pooh-poohing some of the factual liberties we're taking, and they'll get that sense of intellectual superiority that is the main consolation of being a scientist." (Emphasize mine.)

Can we say "stuck up a--?"  "Pompous git?"  "Bloody idjit?"

I'm waiting for this bad boy to appear on cable, thanks.  Ain't no way this "bright" boy's going to get one cent from me.

And I'm not a scientist.

Squishy

Being smart is like, teh dum. And junk. Stoopid sciencetits!

This sucker  looks like an Earthbound "Armaggedon" crossed with smidgens of "At The Earth's Core" and an unhealthy dose of claustrophobia. Is there any part of that mix that appeals to anyone?

All we need now is for the director to make the sexual metaphor of a big drill plowing into Mother Earth's hot, wet core as blatant as possible...ewww.

This thing looks *exactly* like Armageddon. I think what Hollywood seems to forget is that good science fiction takes the science as seriously as the fiction, something Jules Verne knew all too well and his books are still read almost a hundred years later. Coincidence?

I saw the trailer for this, and I fully agree with everybody here about this upcoming LaHooZaHer of a movie.
Give me "At The Earth's Core"(a REAL movie)any single day over this celluloid disasterpiece.
