Late 80's-Early 90's Teen Vampire Hunters- Floating Lungs

The plot is the town was taken over by vampires and some teenage girls became hunter of these vampires. One of the girls mother was changed into a vampire and she kept her hidden and chained to a bed and fed her so she wouldn't be killed. This mythology was unique because every night the vampires vomited up their lungs to breathe and slept underwater. I vividly remember the scene where someone jumps into some water and there are hundreds of vampires with the floating lungs. Thank for any help.
