I watched this movie the other night and it was bad!
It tries to go for black comedy and then straight up horror, but fails at both.

For those of you who don't know, Teeth is about a girl with a toothed vagina.
"Vagina Dentata" to be exact.
The teeth in it aren't like the teeth in our mouths.  These are fangs that look like they came straight from a velociraptor's mouth.  
After she "bites off" a dude's schlong and he dies from the bleeding, the doctors find one of the teeth embedded in the part of his penis that wasn't severed.  Let me tell you, it's a nasty piece of work!

At first, she seems to have no control over it.  Then later in the film, she is able to control it.
This girl goes from preaching abstinence to basically bedding every guy she hates and castrating them in the most horrible manner.

There is one scene that will stick in my mind for years to come. 
You know that shot that some filmmakers use where they put the camera at a low angle behind the girl's legs and it looks between them and you can see the person she's looking at through them?
She bites off a guy's dong and then stands up...

I watched this film with my buddy and his girlfriend and when that scene played, we all yelled, "AWWWW!!  NOOOO!!!  NASTY!!  GROSS!!!"

This movie can't make up its mind what it wants to be.
At one point it's a drama.  Then it becomes horror and gore.  Then it's a black comedy.
If it had a better script and a more singular focus, it would've been much better.
There are parts in it that are incredibly cheesy.  And there are parts like the one above that must be seen to be believed.

I'd rate this film 2 out of 4 stars.

Wow, this is in my top ten favorites of 2008. This was a dark dark comedy with horror overtones because of her ailment. The one thing that could have been better was the acting. The lead was excellent, but all the others were average.

This is a character study and her character grows with "victim", if you want to call them that. The first of course she doesn't know what's going on. The next is out of fear and pain. Then she realizes she can have sex. Then comes anger. She knows she can control it, the last is revenge.

My (now ex-) girlfriend was ridiculously psyched to see this...I don't know if she has yet or not, but she kept telling me it looked like a movie I should see...this and "Zombie Strippers."

No, her interest in "Teeth" had nothing to do with the break-up.

A less cringe-worthy variation on this might be 1977's CHATTERBOX in which a woman discovers her vagina can talk - and sing.

I've always wanted to see the bit where her hoohoo sings 'Wang Dang Doodle' on TV.

I thought Teeth was okay. Good and enjoyable, but I wouldn't own it. It's one of those movies I wanted to see for a while, was glad I got to see it, was entertained by it, but I really don't need to buy it or bother watching it again. It was just "alright."
