Sure, death scenes can make you laugh.  Is it wrong?  Maybe.  But it feels soooooo right!  I think it's mostly the timing, that and I've watched so much Bugs Bunny and Road Runner that violence just seems hilarious.

Call me a bad person, but the scene in The Mist where Thomas Jane blows his child away, and the finds out everything was under control, which was supposed to be a "dark, nihilistic" twist ending... just made me laugh out loud in the theater.

I am an awful, awful human being.

There's a guy in Titanic who falls off the back of the ship and hits the propeller and then spins into the water.

I didn't laugh at that bit, but I thought to myself, "Whoops!"

I thought that the scene in The Ring of the horse leaping overboard to its death was quite funny.  Why'd it have to hit the railing?!  If it had been a clean jump I don't think it would've tickled me in any way.  This clip is too long so you might want to skip ahead a minute into it:

When Pearl Harbor was out in theaters, I watched watched the ending many times while working as an usher, and one of the main characters has a big death scene and I always thought it was humorous.  "I'm so cold..."

I think the ending of Reuben, Reuben (1983) was supposed to be funny, but I never thought so.

The world runs off money, even for those with a warped sense of what the world is.

When I saw that scene (as Naomi was trying to pet the horsie and freaking it out) the though going through my mind was "Does this bug you? I'm not touching you! Does this bug you?".
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

There are a couple others I remembered, but alas, I cannot find videos for them.

Gamera, Guardian of the Universe
There's a scene where Gyaos swoops down as a dog barks at him.  All you see is Gyaos fly by the camera, followed by a shot of the dog chain fully extended and being violently pulled off the screen with this ungodly YEEEAAAALP!  The chain eventually breaks...

Turistas
The scene where the Swedish chick falls off the cliff and brains herself on the cliff wall.

:bouncegiggle:

All I could think of as she landed were Olympic judges holding up numbers.

I found a montage of movie deaths on YouTube that have some of the ones that I was going to post.

"There is no way out of here. It'll be dark soon. There is no way out of here."

In what is considered by many an homage to The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms eating a cop is the scene from Jurassic Park where the huge Tyrannosaurs eats the laywer (which I suppose proves they're really not all bad )

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

In Sleepwalkers when the woman stabs the cop with the corn on the cob always makes me chuckle.

I actually saw THE GOOD SON at a theater. The audience cheered and laughed when Macaulay Culkin bit it.

How about the innkeeper/villain in MOTEL HELL . . . talk about famous last words!

"I was the biggest hypocrite of all . . . I used . . . preservatives!"
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"
