I looked at the list and I will have to say that Battlefield Earth should not be #1.

#1 should be tied with Cool As Ice and Baby Geniuses.

I looked at the Dishonorable Mentions,

Man there are some good gems there.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I enjoyed, and not for ironic reasons, the following :

Hudson Hawk
Even Cowgirls Get The Blues
Grease 2
Striptease
Look Whos Talking Too
Judge Dread
Red Sonja
Godzilla
Theodore Rex
Armegeddon
Problem Child
Drop Dead Fred

If God exists, why did he make me an atheist? Thats His first mistake.

Psycho Circus

Problem Child is a brilliant film.

Wow, if "lack of success" is criteria for addition to this list, shouldn't the list maker's mother be added?  Or may just the list maker?

Personally, I see some gems in their pile of turds, but then I think people who swear by "The Matrix" and "Jurassic Park" should be sterilized and exiled, but what do I know?

:hatred:

Jurassic Park is one of my all time faves!!!!
I love that film more than I love Elvira!!!!!!

That's a lot of love.

I agree with you when it comes to the Matrix, though.

"Hey, Frankie!  Hand me the meat cleaver and get the boat ready!  We have another one."

Hey, my philosophy is that everything has to have someone to love it.

And I've had people not talk to me after I've told them some of my favorite movies.  I'd buy you a pint, and we could discuss the merits of Elvira's loveliness.  There's ample ground for agreement in other areas, so we'll move past this one film.

Wooooooow, anyone notice that maybe 3 of these were made before the 80s?

Wild Wild West... Armageddon... The Postman... Pearl Harbor... Haunted Honeymoon... Pet Sematary 2... Bio-Dome... very, genuinely, enjoyable to me.

What else was criteria here, films that seem so "Hollywood" and already hated that you wouldn't get in trouble from most of the Internet sheep for saying they're bad?

"Dishonorable mention", Mom and Dad Save the World was great fun, as was Red Dawn, LXG, City of Angels, Inspector Gadget, Home Alone 3, 3000 Miles to Graceland, Last Action Hero, John Q, Pet Sematary 1, Toys... Whoop, later we see these are films "meant to be good, but failed"... So, what are your standards? Some actual algorithm for failure, or just some "everybody hated" that you decided would be fun to list?

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Mr. DS

I often wondered why the live action Popeye gets so much hate.  I grew up with that as a kid.

Ones I liked on the list:  SHOWGIRLS (camp), THE FORBIDDEN DANCE (camp), POPEYE (on its own terms), MOMA AND DAD SAVE THE WORLD (not great, but nowhere near the worst), KRULL (on its own terms).  Most of the listed movies are real bad movies, stuff like Pauly Shore and Whoopi Goldberg vehicles, that I wouldn't watch with Doggett's eyes.

I thought the bit about "Z-grade movies" sounded a bit high and mighty, like these movies don't try to be good movies.  Also, it's hard to take seriously any list of bad movies that includes the disclaimer "Edward D. Wood Jr. still holds the crown for creating the 'worst movie ever made.'"  That shows a shocking lack of knowledge of film history.

I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Very true.  These people have never seen "Executioner, Part 2".

Battlefield Earth - it was okay, mildly entertaining
Howard the Duck - there they go hatin' on Howard again
Maximum Overdrive - aw c'mon, that was fun
Hudson Hawk - I enjoyed it
Island of Dr. Moreau - I really liked that, been meaning to get the DVD
Jason X - good grief, one of my favorite movies of all time
Judge Dread - another fun one
Red Sonja - gah!  Actually pretty entertaining
Anaconda - fair
Armageddon - bad, but certainly not worthy of being on a list.  Well, okay, maybe.
Barb Wire - sorta agree with the inclusion of this one
Mannequin - oh yeah, now that sucked
House of the Dead - Ewe's first and most comically entertaining movie
Sheena - yeah it was bad, but I've seen it two or three times
Cyborg - probably my favorite Jean Claude Van Damme movie.
Mom and Dad Save The world - Kathy Ireland - need I say more?
2001 a Space Travesty - thought it was pretty funny
Red Dawn - fairly good
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - not all that good, okay, it was bad, but not terrible
Masters of the Universe - fun
Sphere - really good movie, a bit too long, but nowhere near as bad as say, The Abyss

Why the hell isn't the remake of Rollerball at or near the #1 spot?

QuoteYou may have noticed missing in the list above a movie usually cited as the "worst movie ever made", Ed Wood's 'Plan 9 from Outer Space' (1959). The reason being that the list above are graded A movies and B movies. In other words they at least tried to be good but failed.

Huh?  :bouncegiggle:
