What movie do you think everybody hates?

Well, three I hate:

NORTH (1994) Rob Reiner's extremely painful 'comic' quest of a boy in search of the perfect parents. Famous today for Roger Ebert's review "I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it." I don't always agree with Ebert, but he's spot on with this one.

PLANET OF THE APES (2001) Tim Burton's "re-imagining" of the 1968 classic. Burton annoyingly twists plot points of the original and throws in a baffling SURPRISE! ending. Burton further insulted audiences by hinting they were too dim to see the brilliance of his ending. I'm still trying to figure out why he made chimp Helen Bonham Carter look like Michael Jackson.

BOXING HELENA (1993) David Lynch's daughter's directoral debut. Julian Sands systematically amputates a beautiful woman's (Sherilyn Fenn) arms and legs so she will never leave him. Art Garfunkle is in it, too. About as unpleasant and uncomfortable as listening to your best friend's parent's fight. The producers famously sued Kim Basinger for a million bucks for dropping out of this one. She got off easy.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

There are people on here who will defend MONSTER A GO-GO, SALO and TITANIC.

If someone (other than the director's mother) can love those movies, then there must be at least one fan for every movie!

I've steered away from most of the train wrecks mentioned on this thread.  The only one I've see is EPISODE II, which may not have been great but seemed pretty good after EPISODE I!
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Judging from all the threads I've ever read here on this board over an eight year period, I'd have to say "Manos: The Hands of Fate".

I have yet to hear anyone say anything good about that movie.
(except for maybe Torgo  :tongueout:)

That was just, bad.  The Torgo character is good.  But beyond that, I can't say I like it too much.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I actually enjoyed Attack of the Clones.  Yeah, the script and acting were beyond awful, but the action and special effects were fun.

I'll nominate the remake of Rollerball.  And the remake of Dukes of Hazzard.  And Death Tunnel.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

That movie was a trap! The title screamed "Hey! funny movie about being fat but it's made by fat people so it's not going to be offensive to fat people!" and then not only was it NOT funny but I'm not even overweight and I felt fat after watching it AND depressed (maybe that was Mo'Nique's evil intention?).

I think Manos: Hands of fate (or Mangos: Cans of Fruit, if you prefer) is probably the winner.  Also, from what I've researched, Black Devil Doll From Hell is pretty much universally despised.

I'll admit that I like Frogs... Though it's far from something I'd watch every day. I do dig the atmosphere.

Of course, there may be some demented individuals who like these movies, but they are absolutely horrendous.

You know, I must say that Manos is the worst movie I have ever saw.
I, however, do not hate it. Not since the fourth viewing.
It's nothing like I've ever seen before. It's like madness on film.
It's a void filled with insanity and bad lounge music. When I watch it I feel like I'm in a Lovecraftian story...
It is something that you watch alone, at midnight, and you howl at the moon...
I have embraced Manos: The hands of fate.
And now, I should probably stop typing before you all declare me legally insane.

Meet Dave.

In fact, 2/3 of Eddie Murphy's film output.

YES! I don't think I've ever cringed so much at a movie... :bluesad:
