:twirl: Ahhhh, spoofs.  Ya gotta love em.  They make most people laugh, but the only things in them that make me laugh is the seriously flawed logic of them.  One of my favorite spoof scenes was in the movie Airplane!  (Spoof of Airport)  In the scene, striker is at the front desk getting a ticket for the flight.  When he is asked for a smoking or nonsmoking ticket, he requests a smoking one.  But its the ticket that is smoking, not he!   LOL!!!  :bouncegiggle:

You can't forget Mel Brook's little Star Wars satire Space Balls.  The G4 channel is right now showing animated episodes of that movie to update it with the three Star Wars prequels.
I was so amused when they turned a winnebago RV into a space ship by simply adding wings with nacelles.  My favorite scene in that movie was towards the end when princess Vespa was marrying the extremely dull Prince Valium.  Then Lone Starr comes in and says "Prince Lone Starr."  Then Vespa says "Prince?"  "That's what this says, I'm an honest-to-God prince.  Will you marry me?"  "Well let me think about it."  She pushes Prince Valium aside then says "Yes!"
That is my favorite scene in that film.  There are many more, but I won't go into the now.

Does anyone remember Mel Brooks' spoof to Robin Hood Prince of Thieves?  Yup, Robin Hood men in tights.  I got a few laughs out of that one too, though not as many as Disney's version of Robin Hood.  What I found funny in that film was what they renamed the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Sheriff of Rottingham :bouncegiggle:  A favorite scene of mine from that film was after Robin's castle was taken and a boy runs towards Robin and Company, then the Sheriff of Rottingham and his cavalry come in.  His Cavalry are all playing a pursuit song on kazoos  :twirl: I just loved after that scene when The Sheriff challenges Robin to a sword fight.  He only pulls out a hilt, but Robin pulls out a full longsword.  Robin then cuts something on the Sheriff's saddle and he is suddenly on his horse's belly instead of Back.  Then he says to Robin "I was angry at you before, Locksley.  But now I'm p**sed off!"  The Achu says "p**sed off?  If I was that close to a horse's weiner I'd be worried about getting p**sed on!"  Then the Sheriff orders his men to kill Robin and coompany then Robin points his sword at the Sheriff's chest and the Sheriff rescinds the order.  Robin turns the horse and the Sheriff around and sends them on their way.  They Sheriff's men follow, still playing their kazoos.  As the horse is galloping, the Sheriff gets a few hundred konks on the head.  I laughed so hard at that scene I almost went into hypoglycemic shock.

Oh God. we all need a good laugh every now and again, and spoofs almost never let us down.
Babe, I'm leaving.  I must be on my way.  The time is drawing near.  The train is going.  I see it in your eyes.  The love beneath your tears.  And I'll be lonely without you.  And I'll need your love to see me through.  So please me.  My heart is your hands.  And I'll be missing you...

Airplane!- Saw it back in '94 or so, at the ripe age of ten, and loved it ever since.
Naked Gun Series- Leslie Nielsen is a favorite, so this was good for me.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves- May not be Mel Brooks best, but the first one I saw and it makes me laugh regardless.
Spaceballs- Rick Moranis owns his role.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

Mel Brooks didn't do Prince of Thieves, Kevin Costner did.  The one you're thinking about is Men in Tights.

Most people seem to despise Brook's DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVING IT but I thought it was a clever spoof of the Universal and Hammer Dracula films.

Peter McNicol as Renfield really seems to be channeling Dwight Frye.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

"I also enjoyed NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE quite a bit.  Especially the slow clap guy."

I still try to start the slow clap every once and awhile.  Nobody gets it but me.

Ozzymandias

Ozzymandias speaks: I recently bought a copy of Hound of the Baskerville with Cook and Moore. I don't like it as well as Bedazzled, but it is fun. It is worth $3 for this part alone (Note Peter Cook is not in this scene).

I also like Peter Sellers Fiendish Plot of Fun Manchu. Also, Rustler Rhapsody.
Don't forget This Is Spinal Tap (It may have been mentioned). Also Woody Allen's Take the Money and Run (crime films), Sleeper (science fiction) and Shadows and Fog (sort of German expresionism/Universal horror/early Hitchcock).
Speaking of Hitch, Mel Brooks High Anxiety.

All the others I like have been mentioned.

Ozzymandias has spoken!

I imagine no one else will mention it, so I'll go ahead -

some parts of AN AMERICAN CAROL were hilarious!

SHAUN OF THE DEAD is great, but I've decided HOT FUZZ is even better.

I'd consider The Brady Bunch Movie to be a pretty good spoof movie.  Granted, they just spoof The Brady Bunch, but make a pretty damn good go of it.
