there is a movie thatmy friend wants me to see but he doesn't remember what it's called. he said it had a '57 chevy in it that was found buried under the road and this guy who is getting chased by police pulls it into a car wash when the car gets washed the paint washes away and the car is red underneath.

Christine, possibly.  I think he's running away from the police at one point and the car changes color.  Been a looooooong time since I saw it, though.

The car is a '58 Plymouth Fury, but it could be mistaken for a '57 Chevy (four headlights instead of two, otherwise they are very similar).
