The Burgomaster

This is the third in the BLIND DEAD series and has been released under several different titles since 1974.  I purchased it as part of the BLIND DEAD boxed set (in the neat coffin-shaped box).  At least it's a nice, sharp, widescreen print . . .

First of all, the galleon is a very unconvincing model (it looks like a toy ship floating in a wading pool).  And the sets aboard the ship are cheap and sparsely decorated.

The story involves fashion models adrift at sea as part of a publicity stunt.  They encounter the ghost galleon floating around in the fog (actually "another dimension") and a rescue party sets out to help them.  After plenty of boredom, the slow moving templarios rise from their coffins in the ship's hold, lurk around, and kill people.  In one scene, they dismember a woman and eat her.

What would a movie from this time period be without an exorcism?  Well, this movie has one (it consists of a guy carrying a flaming cross muttering stuff like, "Go back to hell where you came from" and similar junk).

The best part of this movie is when the end credits start rolling.  ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

I had this one as part of a Mills Creek Combo pack . . . pretty dreadful.
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

I liked it!  It wasn't as good as the first two Blind Dead Movies, but it was way better than the fourth one, "Night of the Seagulls."  That one fell a little flat for me.
