I love those Mill Creek 50 films for $15. You never know what your gonna find on those. Usually its a bunch of public domain stuff, but at that cosr, it's still cheeper and easier than doenloading them off archive.org and burning them myself.

Anyway, I just finishing watching the 1974 film "They". While I believe there is no "worse film" of all time, if I had to nominate a film for voting, this might be the film pick!

The Aliens are basically a red light or smoke bombs, the acting is horrible, the story is lame, and it was made in Wisconsin. Most of the film consists of a group of four people stuck in a cabin as aliens kill the rest of the world with a virus, or something.

Here is rule #1 for low budget, no professional actor film making. Don't take yourself damn seriously! If the film is gonna suck, at least make the audience laugh!

The Burgomaster

I watched this a year or two ago (maybe more).  Wasn't this directed by Bill Rebane (who is a king of bad movies, but doesn't seem to get mentioned enough)?  Several of his movies are in various Mill Creek 50 Movie Packs.  However, I'd love to get my hands on his most infamous movie, THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION starring Alan Hale, Jr.!  It was available on DVD a few years ago, but I didn't buy it.  I'm hoping for a re-release.

Sadly, "The Giant Spider Invasion" is the best thing that man ever filmed. Okay, let me rephrase that, it is the most professional film he ever made.  The redneck jerk who finds all the "spider eggs" was on Johnny Carson to promote the movie. Actually, that actor has degrees in language and is (was?) considered an expert on dialects.

I just bought "Spider Invasion" on some set, but I can't remember what it was.  I'll try to remember to look tonight and post it here.  Hope my memory holds up.

"They" is one I saw on an afternoon movie when I was a teen. I was amazed at what a total non-movie it was.  I think it would have been great if they had played "I Think We're Alone Now" over the final scenes. I can't say more for fear of ruining things for those who have not suffered through this mess.

The version I have is on a Brentwood 4 movies set called "Invasion Of Terror".
