late 70's TV movie with plaque people with scary albino eyes

In the late 70's I saw a movie on TV (I was about 10 yrs old or so) that was about a plaque or some sickness that was spreading and eventually there was no one left alive that was not affected except the hero man and his girlfriend I think. They were running scared from the zombies that this plague created. The zombie people became albino eyes.
If anyone remembers this please help. Thanks.
