Weird movie with a guy looking for a girl?

I'm trying to remember a movie I saw quite a while ago.  '80s maybe?  Possibly early '90s.  A guy is trying to find a girl (at least I think he is).  He's in a city at night (no, it's not The Night Before).  I remember there being another girl  - the main girl's roommate possibly? - who lives on the top floor of a building.  The guy wants to get in the building, and she throws the key down to him from her window.  This girl has a huge clay sculpture that she's working on, it's in the middle of the living room.  She spends all her scenes in a black bra, with dabs of clay on her body.  The movie is rather surreal, as one weird thing after another keeps happening to this guy, his situation keeps going from bad to worse.  In the end, I think (?) he ends up trapped inside a clay sculpture or something.  I'm not actually sure that he's trying to find a girl, but he's looking for something.

Any ideas?

Sounds like Martin Scorsese's After Hours (1985)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088680/

Fun flick, haven't seen in ages though.

Mofo Rising

Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

It's been awhile since I've seen After Hours but I'm also pretty sure that's it.
Wasn't Linda Fiorentino the woman who had the big clay sculpture in her living rom?

Rev. Powell

Yep, AFTER HOURS.  I love this movie!

I think Rosanna Arquette played the sculptress, but Linda Fiorentino was in it too.
