I think it's a 98% bad idea.  I say that because, well, it's so long after the original that quite frankly, why bother.  Granted, most of the kids have disappeared, save for Feldman, Sean Astin and Brolin.  But, the guy who played Sloth is dead, Mama Fratelli is dead.

But there's that other 2% of me that wants to see what they'll do.

Okay, am I the only person who thought the original was the most annoying 80's "classic" on the planet?  When it came to the end, I looked at the person who was so enthusiastic about me watching it and said, "I'm not letting you pick movies again."

So, a sequel?  Only if we get to see some of the cast die. Otherwise, no.

Though I'm not a Goonies h8er myself, I found a quite entertaining review on IMDb from someone who is X)

Well I have been prepared to see kids movie. Most of the viewers seem to be happy with this move but I just keep to wonder why. It is very chaotic, hardly funny and quite abusive I have to say. But the worst part is it is actually very boring movie. From start to the end there is just sequence of screaming, did the viewers who mentioned their childhood memories keep their youth with never ending shouting like "UAAAAAAA!!!" "IIIIIIIIII!!!" "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" "UAHAAAAAAA!" "WE GOT IT!!!" "NOOOOOOO!" "HEEEEEELP!!!" "WHAAAAATS THAAAAAT?!" et cerera et cerera. Everyone in the movie is just plain silly - children, parents, police, everyone. The only exception are banditos who are simply brain dead. Its stupid, its just stupid. It's disgusting, literally two hours walk in sewage filled with sewage humor. I'm very happy I've seen this movie on TV and pay nothing for this most unpleasant experience. I'm really happy I have not bought it because I would be very angry because of money wasted.

I was raised up watching Gamera, Johnny Socko, Escape to Witch Mountain, Land of the Lost TV Series, etc...

Goonies seemed like a mess because there were too many annoying characters talking over each other at the sametime and screaming at every little thing.
