I really have never been able to figure out why this film's quirky plot worked, but so many of the other Full Moon offerings disappointed me.  Maybe it's that all of the actors and actresses are so earnest, and the script is played completely deadpan, in a film that involves mutant toilet fetus collectors and a topless woman wearing a gorilla mask.

I swear Full Moon films start with props and builds scripts around them.  It all ends up idiotic.

Agreed, though for this film the props weren't too shabby, other than the mutant toilet baby I dubbed "Blue Eyes."  And I still suspect he was originally made for some earlier production and maybe modified for his appearance in "Hideous!"

And Andrew, I have to agree, the earnestness of the actors and the way the script was handled really make this film.  I may have to revise my review -- the more I reflect on the film, the more I like Jacqueline Lovell's performance.

What's especially funny is when they apparently do this, but then the prop actually doesn't matter that much in the film.  Look at Blood Dolls, whose title characters could have been written out of the film without much difficulty.
