I'm a little less skeptical, especially being a big fan of JEH's portrayal of Rorschach.  I think he might just pull it off.

I'm still upset it's being remade at all, I'm happier with this guy than I was Billy Bob Thornton. 

If I was to vote for someone to be Freddy and it couldn't be Robert Englund I would still go with Ryan Stiles.  He looks just like him!

Did anyone see him in "Little Children"? Jesus, he was creepy as hell in that.  I have a whole new respect for the guy.

I think of all the remakes this one has the most potential.  When I heard Billy Bob proposed for the role, I nearly puked.  After seeing Watchmen, and hearing JEH would be taking the role, I breathed a slight sigh of relief.  I think he could pull it off.  Will it be as good as Robert Englund?  Probably not, but it would most likely be better than BBT.

I'm assuming (and hoping) they're going to go for the darker, scarier Freddy of the first film.  If so, I can't think of anyone who could be a better Freddy than Jackie Earle Haley - discounting Robert Englund, who could still do it, especially since the makeup makes his age impossible to determine.  Excellent casting. 

I do think it's a film that should never have been remade.  I'd rather see Freddy VS Jason 2.  Or better yet, Freddy VS Jason VS Ash.

From what I heard, they are going for a darker, scarier Freddy as you mentioned.

We'd end up with a billion of those things on here, for all sorts of films!  :twirl:

I am not happy at all about this remake. I pretty much dispise all remakes, as the always suck. But, this guy can pull it off if they're not using Englund. He'll probably be the only decent part of the movie even if they make Freddy scary again. The first three films were the best by far, then Freddy became less nightmarish, burt child killer and more Kenny Everett with a rubber pizza on his face.  :lookingup:
