A guy I worked with in a previous job told me about the site.  In the beginning, I primarily read Andrew's reviews and enjoyed watching the short film clips attached to many of them.  Then I started reading the forum and posting comments under my original user name ("Joe").  Before long, I changed my name to The Burgomaster . . . and I've visited this website regularly for several years.

I recall you and Dennis metting me on the BadMovies Frappr thing....I haven't logged on to that site inna long,long,long time! Does anybody else here in the Frappr Badmovies thing still?

I found this site back in 2000 when I was searching for movie reviews.  I liked Andrew's writing style and humor.

One thing that I like about this little community of ours is that it has "personality".
Other boards and websites often lack true honest to God personality.  But not this one.
All of us come from totally different backgrounds yet we're all able to get along well with each other.
And this board is civil and respectful.
I can't tell you how many boards I've visited where it was nothing but fighting, flaming and trolling.  And even worse...spam.
If anyone tries that here, they're quickly shown the door.
And like RC mentioned, some boards have an elitist and clique feel to them.  Meaning, if they don't know you, you can forget about ever being taken seriously.  This forum is very warm and welcoming to newcomers.

Also, the combined knowledge of movies and entertainment we all possess is absolutely staggering.  The people here are very helpful and friendly, and I think that's awesome.      

That's why I'm still here after almost 10 years.

Not to speak badly of the folks at BMMB...but I had posted over 100 time....no respone. One nite I was really drunk and just went and typed some really off the wall sh!t (don't remember what) and I was innudated with hits. Not all good. I didn't post nothing bad about no one....I just went apesh1t on a movie or something. Some very knowledgablr folks...but when I post here,I feel like I'm hanging out with freinds at the bar or something, Their it was like compition to see    who could be more sarcastic or movie smart. You don't haveta be a movie expert to be a fan of bad film...We're here to praise it,not analyise. To have FUN!

that's very true. a lot of forums that have been going a while seem to have an 'elite' bunch of posters who will be relentlessly sarcastic to any newbies, and overtake threads with little remarks and 'in-jokes' etc that only they know about... I hate that kind of stuff. even if I had been on a board for 15 years I wouldn't start doing that crap...

I was looking up some movie, I can't remember what or why. What came up was a review on this site. When I realized it was one of an alphabetical list of reviews, I spent the next couple of hours trying to think of bad movies I'd seen and seeing if they'd been reviewed.

Lurked for awhile, then joined to ask a "What was this movie" question. Never did get an answer. I think I probably posted it in the wrong place.

I can't remember what movie I searched for that brought me here.  I may have just searched for "bad movies".  That would have been 1998, I think.  I stuck around because it's probably the best damn site on the whole internet.

We had just purchased a our first computer and printer, after a couple days I discovered that I could put up pictures of my choice as backrounds on the monitor and also make nice 8 x 10 glossies for my cubicle at work. I was always looking for good "B" movies images and Badmovies.org kept turning up, I started reading and finally got up enough nerve to join and start posting, one of the best decisions I've made. My friends and coworkers still think I'm a little on the strange side but at least they know I'm not alone.

I was a member of the now defunct SCIFILM.org board, Menard had recommended us Scifilmers check out Badmovies... where I found an even friendlier, and more tolerant, community than at SCIFILM.  Just passed my 2 year anniversary as a member of this forum.

How long have I looked on in wonder at Andrew's work, and envied his style? Years! And I'm still impressed. And yous guys keep it from getting dull.
Add a 'no flame wars' policy and I'm a happy camper.
