That's too bad.  He added a little something to just about every movie he was in, crappy or not.  He was kind of like Donald Pleasance in that sense.

As for why...  I suspect he's been troubled for a long time.  I know people who've seen him at conventions, apparently he's gone on a number of benders, both the legal kind and the illegal kind.

This is some truly shocking and depressing news. He was always one of my favorite actors. I realize that he had some serious demons in the past but it seemed  that after the mainstream success of the Kill Bill films, I thought he had put those behind him finally.  Sadly that doesn't seem to have been the case. The last film that I saw him in was Crank: High Voltage........  R.I.P. Caine. You will be missed!

Crap, that's surprising and sad news.

It's unclear but some other stuff I'm reading seems to be hinting not at suicide but auto-erotic asphyxiation.

QuoteDavid Carradine, star of the television series Kung Fu and the Kill Bill movies, has been found hanged and half-naked in the wardrobe of a Bangkok hotel room, according to reports...Thai police told the BBC the 72-year-old was found by a hotel maid sitting in a wardrobe with a rope around his neck and other body parts...

Still, there's nothing definite in any of the reports.

Terrible news.

My thoughts to the Carradine family, one of the true American acting dynasties.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

Jack

Sad news, I always enjoyed his acting in just about everything he was in.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

Death Race 2000 will always be one of my favorite movies.  Such a shame, RIP David.

To a lot of us, David Carradine was a legend.
I simply cannot fathom why he would want to go out the way he did.

R.I.P. dude.  Loved your movies!
