Hi,
Just wondering if anybody plans out a night of bad movies with friends etc. Or do you usually just watch them yourself? I frequently watch bad movies with a friend, but not that many people are into this great hobby.

Also what are some of the movies you watch? We've watched a lot but a few that come to mind are:

Giant Gila Monster
Beast of Yucca Flats
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers
It Came From Outer Space
Wasp Woman
Killers From Space
Red Planet Mars

The Burgomaster

I do most of my bad movie watching at home by myself.  My wife is not a fan of bad movies, so we usually watch a mainstream DVD and I save the crappy movies for after she goes to bed.  Occasionally, my nephews come over and we watch gory movies like DEAD ALIVE or THE DEAD NEXT DOOR.  I haven't had a bad movie night with a group of friends in a long time.  My favorite experience was when I had a bunch of co-workers over to my house and showed them BLACK BELT JONES.  They thought it was hilarious and couldn't stop talking about it for months.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

I usually watch mine alone. The people I know aren't into this kind of thing, but they suggest movies that rival my collection of badness and roll their nose up at what I suggest.  How the hell is "Galaxy Of Terror" any better than "Frankenstein Island"?

My girlfriend will occasionally watch one with me, but it is usually selected based on how animated I am when I'm describing the film to her. I love this woman.  :teddyr:

I'd love to convince a group of my SCA friends to let me pick out three movies for an evening:

Blood Freak
Drive-In
Don't Look In The Basement

If they can't find enough to riff off of there, they got NO sense of humor.

Doc Daneeka

Usually alone the first time, so I don't have any unpleasant surprises and offend my peers (And so I can spend my first viewing deciding whether or not it is a "bad" movie as defined by the hyenoid masses!). As with Java, the real "interesting" ones I show my girlfriend :) . Basket Case series actually freaked her the heck out and made her physically sick ("war-council" scene and end of part 2, respectively), I am proud ^_^

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Funny that you should mention this.  Me and my cousin are going to do something similiar tomorrow night.  We are going to watch some bad movies and riff them.  The movies are Shark Swarm and Frogs(Or Empire of the Ants) and will start up by watching Mystery Science Theater's Future War or Hobgoblins to set the mood for our rifffest.

Other people would be my dad.  We've watched Jaws 4 and Street Fighter, but not at once.  No need to do something foolish like that.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

Psycho Circus

Joe the Destroyer

I've planned a few, small events I usually call B-movies n' Beer night.  The first one we did didn't really have conventional b-movies, but what I've done in the past:

First:
Snakes on a Plane
The Protector

Second:
Santa's Slay
Riding the Bullet

Third:
Shaun of the Dead
Dead Alive

Fourth:
Dog Soldiers
House (1986)

I wanted to do one last Christmas, but I wound up moving into a shoe box that couldn't possibly hold a b-movie night of more than two people.  I wanted to show Jack Frost and Black Xmas, and nickname the even "Christmas Evil."  Of course, I mulled over a few as well, like "Season's Bleedings," "Slay Bells Ringing," or "Red Christmas."

Saucerman

When I was at school, it was a weekly event...all though, most of the people involved would drift away over the course of the evening.

My friend Emily and I have begun something similar.  Last week we watched Troll 2, this week she's providing "Blood and Chocolate."

I have no friends... :bluesad:

You've got all of us, mate.

Could you loan me the money for a fast plane? I'll be happy to sit through your entire Elvira collection.

My last bad movie night with audience was the Exploitation Cinema Mausoleum / Blood Song Double Feature DVD.

We watched the entire thing with all the trailers and corny drive-in intermissions. Needless to say we had a blast and many good laughs.

But usually I test drive bad movies on my own before sharing them with friends or family.

A few well received titles from past bad movie nights:

The Perils Of Gwendoline
Mommie Dearest
The Wicker Man (2006)
Black Christmas (2006)
Day Of The Animals
The Manitou
Shark Attack 3
Blood Surf
Spiders (2000)
Crocodile (2000)
Crocodile (1981)
The Big Alligator River
Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare
The Mighty Peking Man
The Beyond
Mother Of Tears (Yep, the Argento movie)

Obviously I have you guys !  :teddyr:

I'm broke, you couldn't lend me money, could you ?

I'm a loner in the real world.
I'm in the mood to watch Elvira...but then, aren't I always...

Cthulhu

Evil dead 2 and Army of darkness worked pretty well for me.
I plan on watching a Chinese ghost story 3 with my friends next time.
