Nahhh, not me with my mullet and stonewashed jeans from the 80s  :buggedout:..

Remember this before video took over?

We have two brand new 16mm projectors for usage here and we'll be using them next month for our film festival. We also have about 50 000 16mm reels, too.

And yes, those are my shoes in the top right and that is my knee in the bottom left.  :teddyr:

My father had a 16mm projector and we watched some home movies on it.  But it was definitely out of use by the time I was 8 or 9.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

My mother still has her mother's 8mm projector and Brownie 8mm mechanical movie camera.

Pardon...remember what? I'll let you know once I get past being stuck at the juxtaposition of the words "Trevor" and "mullet".  Maybe next week...

I just looked at the pic again and realized that my shoes need a wash too... :buggedout:

Wow. Cannot say I "remember" those Trevor: we did indeed use 16mm projectors regularly in elementary school and these new ones look quite different.  (Is that a horizontal feed? The old ones were vertical)  The ones I knew were noisy, hot, temperamental machines; usually only one boy per grade seemed to have the knack of how to run them, and they ate film as often as they projected images: either chewed it up, spat it all over the floor, or burned holes in it! When they actually finally consented to taking the film in to begin with, that is.

And *please* tell me its name is not "ELMO"!   We had a PC we called "Elmo" and after years of dealing with its intellectual limitations we took it out and shot it.  Gleefully.

(Did you really have a mullet??  *shudder*)

I think it is a horizontal feed, yes.

So far [Trevor touches side of head in lieu of any handy wood around ] we've been lucky with them and had no breakages or problems.

It really is called "Elmo" by the way ~ a Japanese brand of 16mm projector. Pity the projector's not red and furry.

No, the mullet was just a joke ~ I had the stonewashed jeans, though. Still wear jeans and probably will until they tear my underpants off one day.  :teddyr:
