In Seattle there is a landmark near a public marketplace where since the '90's people having been sticking up hundreds of thousands of wads of chewed gum. Gotta see this to believe it!

Actually, I think it dates to before the '90's. I use to live near Seattle in the late '70's and early '80's, and I believe I remember seeing the wall at that time. And believe me, if the pictures look gross, it looks even worse in person. Which is probably why I've stopped looking under the tables at places where I like to eat.
