Sleepaway Camp: Survival Kit?

I'm thinking of purchasing the Sleepaway camp Survival kit DVD box set.

I haven't seen any of the movies but I'm interested in them because I heard they're worth seeing and I've read some good reviews.

Anyone have any comments on it?

They're pretty standard 80's slashers. If you buy the kit at Best Buy you'll get an extra disc  with the footage from SC 4, a sequel that was never completed.

yeah thats the one I'm getting, plus the store has the original (with the red cross logo on it, natch) so woo hoo. hehe.

If you have the chance to snag the Red Cross logo, go for it!  Frankly I was rather unimpressed with most of them, though the humor in 3 proved welcome (or at least diverting).  The 'shock' ending of the first movie proved too much for my best friend and I in college, we were rolling around the dorm room laughing our buttocks off!

Still, the review I read of the set makes it sound like the goods as only Anchor Bay can deliver (William Lustig deserves an award for what he has done to keep b-movies of yore from slipping into public domain nothingness).

I picked it up, despite already having the first on DVD and the second two on LD.  The prints look and sound good, plus the set was dirt cheap.

Watch the first movie for shock value from the ending.
Did not like the second all that much.
The third had the patented "beat people with a stick" routine down to an art.

I liked the first one and the second was decent.  The third one had the ultimate death scene for the bigot chick.  I got the BEst Buy one and although it was cheaper than the amazon.com one it came with the footage from part four entitled the Sucvivor.....I mean Survivor.  I sat and watched it and I realized why they didn't finish it.  It SUCKED harder than Doofy's vacuum on Scary Movie.  THen they had the nerve to add a "trailer"....It's just parts from the other 3 movies and the footage from the part 4.
